fiber-to-fiber connection by creating a homogenous joint between the two
fiber ends. The fibers are melted or fused together by heating the fiber
ends, Plank engineers using an well-controlled flame or electric arc(under
developing). Fusion splices provide a high-quality joint with the lowest
loss (in the range of 0.01 dB to 0.10 dB for single-mode fibers) and are
practically nonreflective.
Plank manufacturing team is capable of producing
a variety of fiber fusion component product lines: tapered filters (in-line
Attenuator), fused couplers, and WDMs. These structures can be combined for custom-designed applications such as Splicing System and access networks or next-generation multi terabit all-optical transmission networks. |
